“I Used to Eat an Egg Every Day”
I won’t lie, I love eggs. For over a decade, I’ve had a bowl of soup noodles with a fried egg on top every single lunch, it was delicious.
Eggs are pretty harmless, because where do eggs come from? Well, they come from a chicken obviously. She lays eggs, we eat eggs, she lays more eggs, we eat more eggs. But here is the thing, she can’t kee laying eggs forever, so what happens then? Naturally, more chickens have to be born so we can keep producing more eggs.
Now this is perfect if you are female, because you can continue the legacy and keep on laying more eggs. But what happens if you are born male, like this little guy? Unfortunately, you don’t lay any eggs, so you are useless.
To put it into numbers, in the UK alone, 40 million [1] of newborn chicks are killed every year within 24 hours of hatching [2], all because they don’t lay any eggs.
So nowadays when people ask me do I miss the taste of eggs, sure. But do I miss eating eggs? Absolutely not.
